ABOUT OUR SIDEBOARDS/DRESSER BASES

In the pine trade the term "dresser base" or "base" has come to refer to a low case piece with doors and often drawers, whether or not it ever had a rack of shelves or glazed top. At five feet long or more we might call them sideboards and we find them in much shorter supply, so we design and commission new pieces to fill the need.

Our reproduction sideboards and apothecaries are made from reclaimed pine by Translyvanian cabinetmakers working in Hungary. These sideboards are the next best thing to the hard-to-find originals. Crafted with many of the design features of their antique cousins, they are extremely versatile, suitable for vanities, entertainment consoles, storage or display. Custom order any size, any configuration of doors and drawers, any stain colour or any paint.
