An attractive ogee crown molding is about the only curve on this handsome linen cabinet, otherwise comprised of straight lines and sharp corners. Beneath the crown, a frieze showcases the swirling grain pattern typical of the pine variety known as pitch pine, a heavy resinous hard (heart) pine with its characteristic deep rich honey color Mounted on the front corner stiles are two wide-swinging doors, each with two short above two long flat-panels. At the base of the piece are two deep hand-cut dovetailed drawers. The interior has a central vertical divider and two full depth and two half depth retrofitted shelves, with options for their placement. The hinges on the right hand door have been replaced. The cupboard once stood on wooden turned feet, now lost but easy to restore. For now it stands on a plain rectangular plinth.
