A serpentine molding with deeply carved flutes wraps around the crown of this unusual armoire, following the line of the two arched doors, and a carved hardwood floral cartouche sits in the dip between the two peaks. The doors have one long panel, rounded at the top, with a circular panel beneath, and are flanked and separated by a strip of fluted molding and hand-carved acanthus leaf corbels. The doors open 180 degrees to reveal a retrofitted hat shelf and hanging pole with a row of original wooden hanging pegs on the upper back. The wide-swinging doors make this a good candidate for use as an entertainment center.
