The top of this outstanding Pig Bench Table is a single massive slab of Elm three inches thick and over six and a half feet long. The square legs are oak, inserted into oak cleats, splayed for stability, which are then firmly attached to the underside of the top. Though its form is that of a butcher’s block, the elm top is not appropriate for the purpose and this table has never been used for chopping. Rather it has been subjected to only light use. Only a little lower than counter height, this table would be great for food prep in the kitchen and its length makes it a candidate for placement behind a sofa or for use as a serving piece in a country dining room. Knee clearance is 31".
