This large chest of three equal depth drawers is very unusual. The step-down edge to the top, combined with the ogee molding that runs beneath it, makes a substantial crown. The top drawer stands slightly proud of the others and has a racetrack oval faux panel that is most attractive. The front corners on each side of the drawers bear a reeded split column, and fluted corbel. The wooden knobs with pressed nickel backplates, and the matching escutcheon plates are original. At the bottom front is a nicely scalloped frieze, which blends into the scrolled feet. This is a piece of exceptional color and presence.
