Pine Bookcase with Half Doors, from Vintage Armoire

Antique pine bookcases are hard to find so the shell of this piece was provided by a plain vintage armoire.  With one board width removed from the sides and the original backboards and crown molding retained; with the doors cut down, and the drawer reduced in depth, we get a bookcase which, though not an antique, has all the appearance of an old pine piece.  This one has a bold crown and a nice bead around the panels. The front corners are decorated with fluting and corbels.. With two shelves in the open section and one inside the cupboard.  Hand-polished to a warm honey glow.
