A Sears “Franklin” sewing machine from around 1910 once sat upon this handsome treadle base.  We took some reclaimed pine of about the same age and married them to create this industrial-style side table.  Its shallow depth makes this piece perfect for placement in an entrance lobby or on the back of a sofa or loveseat.  It would be a great printer table in the office or serve as a small writing table in the living room or kitchen.  The working treadle is a comfortable footrest and you can exercise while you write.  The base is in original worn black paint and the top is in a rich rugger brown with a wipe-off lacquer finish.

USA, circa 1910
